This 52-year-old woman sought treatment for pain, swelling and limited mobility associated with lipedema. Her primary goal involved improving her comfort, regaining function, and enhancing her body contour. Many patients pursuing Lipedema Surgery share similar concerns, as lipedema often results in persistent fatty tissue, most commonly on the lower body, that does not improve with diet or exercise.
We performed an ultra high-volume liposuction procedure in the operating room under general anesthesia. The approach helped remove excess fat, relieve pressure, and address the characteristic tissue changes of lipedema. The patient tolerated the procedure well. She has noted decreased discomfort and improved mobility since her recovery began.
Pictured here approximately three months after surgery, she demonstrates significant reduction in fullness and improved leg contour. She continues to heal and report better quality of life in daily activities.
We have found that individualized care, patient education, and advanced techniques contribute to positive experiences with Lipedema Surgery in Atlanta. As a board-certified plastic surgeon, I prioritize safety, patient empowerment and lasting results, drawing on my background in emergency services to inform my practice.
