Meet Nurse Chelsea Hagopian

The reason Nurse Chelsea Hagopian has so many letters after her name is that she has a love for the nursing profession that has led her to seek the highest levels of education and certification in her field. Here’s what each means:

  • AGACNP-BC: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified

Nurse Hagopian is a self-described nursing ethics nerd whose research and teaching focus on advocacy for the nursing profession and encouraging nurses in all settings to voice their unique perspectives. She is full-time clinical faculty at the Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing as an Assistant Professor- clinical track where she teaches primarily in the prelicensure Master of Nursing program.

Nurse Hagopian also serves as executive director of the Georgia Nursing Workforce Center.

Commitment to Patient Care

Nurse Hagopian’s passion for nursing ethics aligns with her dedication to exceptional patient care. Her scholarship and research have focused heavily on improving the effectiveness of the informed consent process for the cosmetic surgery patient and developing and implementing patient decision aids for aesthetic procedures.

Nurse Hagopian has practiced clinically in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery as a nurse and nurse practitioner for the past 10- and 7-years, respectively. She loves providing a whole person approach to care—with attention to the patient on both a physical and emotional level. One of her favorite things about performing nonsurgical aesthetic procedures is collaborating with people to address their aesthetic care needs.

Deep Roots in Atlanta

Nurse Hagopian is an Atlanta native who was raised in a close-knit Southern family. Her grandmother was an operating room nurse, and she knew from an early age that she would follow in her footsteps.

Nurse Hagopian completed her bachelor’s and master’s in the science of nursing at Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing in Atlanta. She also earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in health systems leadership at Emory.

She met her husband, Dr. Thomas Hagopian, at a Starbucks near Emory University’s campus during her first semester of nursing school and his first year of medical school.

Fun Facts About Nurse Hagopian

Among Nurse Hagopian’s many loves are yoga, her husband Tom, rescue Maltipoo Emory, and nursing—not in any particular order. She also enjoys fashion and strives for a sartorial expression that is equal parts Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Elle Woods.
