I'd give 100 stars if I could. This team is genuinely amazing and, in so many ways, saved my life. After years of living with severe pain and feeling helpless, I became deeply depressed and started having some very dark thoughts. I felt like no one truly understood what I was going through or knew how to help me. Even after being diagnosed, I had to explain my condition (that I didn't even understand yet) to many medical professionals. The number of times they had to google it while I was sitting there, tried to tell me I meant "lymphedema" when I insisted I meant Lipedema or was told they simply are learning about it from me... made me feel so alone. But after my consultation with this team, I didn't just feel heard—I felt seen. Most importantly, I felt hope again. For the first time, someone not only understood but they knew more than me and that was extremely comforting. My pain had become so severe that I could barely sleep. I was missing out on life and constantly felt like I was holding my family back. I couldn't do the things I loved—hiking, standing at concerts, walking around festivals, or simply keeping up with my family. I felt like a shell of the person I used to be. I lost friends because I was basically homebound. For years, I was repeatedly told that I was simply overweight and needed to lose weight. I couldn't understand why nothing was working, and I began to feel like dead weight to my friends and family. I became so desperate for answers that I took a chance on a team I'd never met. When I was told they had a last-minute opening the following day, I jumped in my car within the hour and drove 11 hours by myself to Atlanta. I slept in my car, waited for hours for my appointment, met Dr. H, and then drove 11 hours home so I could be there to see my son off before Trick-or-Treating. I had already missed so much with him, including something as simple as being able to walk around with him, and I was determined to at least be there that night. It was one of the craziest things I've ever done, but it was also the most life-changing 30 hours of my life. After my five surgeries, I can now do the things I could do before my symptoms flared up after the birth of my son. He's almost 8, which means that for about 6.5 years, he only knew life with a disabled mom. He's still getting used to the mom who can now chase him around—and that is something I will never take for granted. I also want to mention that I have pretty severe medical anxiety. I'm very self-aware, and I know when I'm experiencing intrusive thoughts that they aren't rational, but knowing that doesn't make them any easier to control. Dr. H's staff has been INCREDIBLY understanding throughout this entire process. I've had doctors in the past who were understanding, but I could still sense their frustration. Not once have I ever felt that way here. I have always felt respected, listened to, and cared for. This team gave me something I hadn't had in years: hope, independence, and the ability to be present for my kids and actually live my life again. My friend tells me that no review is "real" if people only list the "pros" and not a single "con" because "SOMETHING can be improved on"- so I'll say this. The only con I can come up with is they are located in Atlanta and I'm near DC, and I'm not close enough to force them to be my best friends and hang out all the time. 😉 Nothing I can say here will accurately describe my appreciation that these people show up to work everyday and do such a hard, demanding job. But I hope they know they not only change lives- they save them, too. I'm proof of that. If you're looking for a dream team, you've found it. Make the call. You won't regret it.

I couldn't be happier with my chin lipo results. As someone who is naturally very anxious, I was nervous going into the procedure, but the entire team made me feel comfortable and cared for every step of the way. They answered all of my questions and made the experience so much easier than I expected. The pricing was fair, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the office was very clean, and welcoming. I would definitely do it again.

The absolute best plastic surgeon office ever. Front the front desk staff, to the nurse (Jane), to the FMLA paperwork coordinator(Amber) to the man with the scalpel Dr. Hagopian! His team is immaculate. I’d recommend them 10,000 x over.

Updated! My experience with Jane, Mallory, and Dr. Hagopian have all been wonderful. My medical questions were answered promptly and completely, and I felt like I was in very good hands with them medically. Unfortunately, there has been a bit of a hiccup with insurance, and the communication with Ashley on the issue left a lot to be desired. I believe the office is trying to work through the appeal process, and I have a game plan going forward if it can't be resolved, but my feelings have been hurt by the way it has been handled. I think a phone call explaining the situation rather than an e-mail stating "Unfortunately, insurance did not pay the contracted rate for your surgery. We will not be able to proceed with your next stages. We will appeal but this could take months and months and most likely will not happen. I am happy to send your medical documents to any other surgeon if you like." could have gone a long way to avoid some of the hurt feelings. Instead, I felt like I was being abandoned and passed off to be someone else's problem when I was never counseled that this was a possibility. I really do hope it can be resolved and we can move on to the next two Lipedema surgeries. It's such a long, emotional process to try to get diagnosed, then wait 8-12 months for a surgical consultation, and then go all the steps required for the surgery packet to be submitted to insurance and finally get approval. I updated my review after further communication with the office; I do believe that they genuinely care about their patients and understand the hurdles that Lipedema patients face. I'm happy to report that I am scheduled for my next surgery at the end of July.

After three lipedema surgeries with Dr. Hagopian, I can honestly say he changed my life. As a stage 2/3 lipedema patient, I spent years feeling uncomfortable in my body, physically exhausted, and emotionally defeated. There were so many moments where I felt hopeless and wondered if I would ever truly feel normal again. Lipedema affected so much more than just my appearance — it affected my confidence, my mobility, my energy, and the way I experienced everyday life. From the very beginning, Dr. Hagopian made me feel seen and understood in a way I hadn’t experienced before. He is not only incredibly talented at what he does, but deeply compassionate. I never felt like “just another patient.” He genuinely cared, and that meant everything during such a vulnerable and emotional journey. I also need to give a special thank you to Nurse Jane and Nurse Mallory. They were absolutely incredible throughout my surgeries and recovery. On the hard days, when I was scared, uncomfortable, emotional, or overwhelmed, they were there with reassurance, kindness, and patience. I will never forget how supported they made me feel. Their compassion carried me through some really difficult moments. This entire experience changed my life in ways that are hard to put into words. I feel healthier, lighter, stronger, and more comfortable in my own body. But more than anything, I finally feel hopeful again. I feel like I’m living the life I used to dream about and never thought I could actually have. I will be forever grateful that it was Dr. Hagopian and his team who walked this journey with me. They gave me so much more than surgery — they gave me my life back.

I’ve known for most of my life that my body was different from others. When I first began researching lipedema, there was very little information available, which made the journey feel overwhelming. After extensive research, I found Dr. Hagopian’s office and decided to schedule a consultation. From my very first visit, I felt completely at ease. Every question I had was answered with care and honesty, and I left feeling confident that I was in the right place. Dr. Hagopian was transparent about what I could realistically expect, and that honesty built a strong sense of trust. I chose to move forward under his care, and I can truly say I have no regrets. Now, nearly a year after my first surgery and almost two years since that initial consultation, the improvement in my quality of life has been remarkable. I love Dr. Hagopian and his office staff! I decided to add on Botox to my pre-op appointment and I have to say its the best I've ever had! I prefer a truly frozen look and Jane delivered! She took the most time out of any practitioner that I have seen to map out injection areas. For the first time ever I felt like I was delivered the service I was promised when it comes to Botox. Her attention to detail and communication about what was difficult about where I had trouble with previous injections was validating and showed her true knowledge. This open communication style seems to be a consistent part of the practice. I'm only 19 days post-op from my first Lipedema surgery and from my handful of visits to the office I have to say: I always leave feeling better than when I walked in. If you're dealing with Lipedema you know this isn't always the case with every provider. Dr. Hagopian, Jane and his staff have done a terrific job of explaining expectations and validating my experience with Lipedema and are an integral part in transforming my life and outlook living with this disease.
